Heartfelt congratulations to Johor Plantations Berhad on their groundbreaking Gas Purchase Agreement with Gas Malaysia Berhad, a pivotal moment during Asia Pacific Climate Week 2023 at Persada Johor International Convention Center.
Witnessed by YB Tuan Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad and YB Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, this agreement is a giant leap toward sustainable energy for Malaysia.
Johor Plantations' Biomethane Generation Plant in Sedenak, Johor, is a testament to innovative collaboration. Co-owned by Johor Plantations Berhad and MTC Orec Sdn Bhd, it's one of the first plants designed for direct injection into the National Natural Gas Grid, commissioned successfully in May 2023.
Adding to the eco-friendly portfolio, two BioCNG plants in Kluang, Johor, are under construction, set to commission in 2024. The BioCNG upgrading system, overseen by MTC Orec, optimizes gas offtake from Palm Oil Mills to injection points.
Kudos to Johor Plantations for their visionary move into Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). MTC Orec proudly stands as their Biomethane and BioCNG upgrading system partner, contributing significantly to this transformative journey.
This initiative not only champions environmental responsibility, avoiding over200,000 mt CO2 equivalent emissions but also aligns seamlessly with Malaysia's ESG goals, creating job opportunities and spearheading the country's RNG movement.
