MTC Engineering Sdn Bhd's (MTCE) commitment to growth beyond the Malaysia oil & gas industry is further enhanced with the award of the FPSO Forel project in 2022 by Medco E&P Natuna Ltd (a subsidiary of Medco Energi) to a Consortium comprising of PT Hanochem Tiaka Samudera, PT Cakra Bahana and MTC Engineering.
MTCE is a key member of the consortium responsible for the conversion of FPSO Marlin Natuna, which will support the crude production for the Forel field development in South Natuna Sea Block B, Indonesia. The project shall leverage on MTCE experiences in FPSO Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) to complement local expertise for development of the Indonesia Oil & Gas industry.
MTCE working alongside the consortium members are responsible for the engineering, integration, and support the modification of the existing vessel, aligning with stringent industry and local regulatory standards. The FPSO under its conversion at PT PaxOcean shipyard in Batam is considered as the first FPSO conversion in Indonesia with a major milestone achieved in terms of local content exceeding 80% local content requirement set by the Indonesia government.
